What is Hypnotherapy?

When you think of hypnosis, what comes to mind? Stage hypnotists making people act like chickens? Waving pocket watches and you're now feeling very sleepy?

That is NOT what we do here at Hypnotherapy By Madi!

​I practice a form of therapy called Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH). This is a therapy founded by David Newton in 1995 that combines the forward thinking strategies of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and the therapeutic techniques of hynposis.

 

This is a therapy that is based on up-to-date research and neuroscience, and is constantly evolving to keep up with the latest findings in brain science. 

 

In our sessions, I will teach you about how the brain works, why you think and act in a certain way, and the effect this has on your feelings, emotions and behaviours. Once you know the reason behind the feelings, you can then start to change the behaviour and thought patterns to create real, lasting, positive changeBy using hypnosis, we can then focus the brain and cement the work that we do in our sessions, by allowing you to get the very best out of yourself!
